The secret delights of the Seychelles
  • The Seychelles are made up of 155 islands, 133 of which are comprised of coral. They sit in the Indian Ocean, around 15,000 km from mainland Africa.

  • Amazing. Aldabra is particularly rich in rare species, and the islands are home to over 100,000 giant land tortoises, millions of birds, fish and sea turtles. And it's a nature reserve - a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site.

  • With a resident population of only 82,000, the smallest of any sovereign state in Africa, there are plenty of spectacularly beautiful, wholly untouched environments to explore, both on land and in water. So there's plenty of guaranteed privacy for the royal couple!

  • Beautiful, as you'd expect! There are no hurricanes or cyclones. That's what makes Seychelles different from, and better than, Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar and the Caribbean islands: the Seychelles lies outside the hurricane / cyclone belt.

  • Well there's the famous  coco de mer tree, which is unique to the Seychelles and produces the largest nut on earth. The fruit can weigh over 40kg....

  • The granite islands of the Seychelles are the oldest islands in the world.

  • They'll be fine. In the Seychelles, commonly used languages include English, as well as Creole and French.
