  • Foodies will love the new minibar at The Bowery Hotel in New York. From artisan-crafted salami and prosciutto to aged goats cheese, charcoal crackers and gluten-free crisps made from organic Virginia potatoes, there's an emphasis on locally-sourced food and many of the items are made just a few blocks away from the hotel. The drinks include sparkling water from Saratoga, iced tea from a Lower East Side tea shop and Brooklyn Pilsner. For those with a sweet tooth, there are cookies from Southampton.

  • Coconut juice, massage oil, locally-grown cashews and Thai beer are some of the indulgent items in Paresa Phuket Resort's minibars. The virgin coconut massage oil is made locally in Phuket and is a favourite with honeymoon guests! You'll also find banana, taro and mango chips, plus local Thai beer Leo and a selection of Ziamese Sisters teas. We love it when even the minibar is exotic!

  • The Villas in Bali wants you to have an indulgent stay on the island and has a 'Maxi bar' filled with cookies, chocolate, iced tea, beers and wine. You'll find sarongs, hats and coasters, plus there's mosquito repellent, after sun, sunblock and a facial mist to make your stay comfortable. You can even buy a serving tray!

  • In a new twist on minibar intimacy kits, The Water Club in Atlantic City offers a Passion Kit with a catch. Couples get 60 seconds after picking up the package, which includes condoms, massage oil and 4 Play games, to decide if they're in the mood and if it isn't put back on the shelf by then, the hotel charges for it. The Passion Kit ($18) complements the Do Not Disturb signs in the room, which have a movable wheel listing a number of possible reasons why you don't want to be interrupted!

Pick Up Sticks, Traditional Metal Jacks and The World's Silliest Family Jokes are some of the fun games you'll find, as well as 'Ninjabread' men, red lip sweets and big lollipops. There are grown-up treats too, like Moet, Tequila, Kissing Mints and an intimacy kit. Plus, there's a cocktail tray in the room, so you can be your own mixologist! • At W London you can tuck into Jelly Beans, Oreos and Peroni from the hotel's take on the minibar - called a Munchie Box. They've also thought of the things you might need for a typical stay in London, with items like Berocca, for when you need a burst of energy after a heavy night out, Party Feet so the ladies can make their high heels more comfortable, a W Symmetry CD, because jet-setters need a soundtrack to their hotel stay, plus a sex toy!

  • The Trump International Hotel and Tower Toronto in Canada really wants to give its guests the 'Trump' experience and the upscale hotel features Trump Gold Bars in the minibar. Ok, so they're not real gold (that would be amazing, though!) and are milk chocolate bars wrapped in gold foil embossed with the word TRUMP. We like that the hotel has its own products in the minibar. If you prefer dark chocolate, there are Trump Silver Bars too.
