UK's best fine dining restaurants 2016
  • Raymond Blanc opened Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons in 1984, just seven years after he and his wife opened their first restaurant. The restaurant comes with a two-acre kitchen garden which produces 90 types of vegetable and 70 varieties of herb, this means the staff always make the most of the fresh ingredients.

  • Sitting on the banks of the River Thames, the Waterside Inn can be found in the 16th century village of Bray in Berkshire. The Waterside Inn serves classic French cuisine and is currently run by Alain Roux, son of the world famous chef, Michel Roux.
  • With one Michelin star and three AA rosettes, it may not come as a surprise that Adam's in Birmingham has been rated the best restaurant in the UK and the fourth best in the world. This British fine dining restaurant boasts an intimate eating area which serves just 25 people at a time. This year the restaurant the fourth restaurant in Birmingham to receive a Michelin star. It also ranks in TripAdvisor's top five restaurants in the world.
  • The Fat Duck is the second restaurant from Bray on Thames to make it onto this year's and this one has famous chef Heston Blumenthal at the helm. He describes the restaurant as 'a nostalgic trip is based on a collection of some of my favourite childhood holiday memories'.
  • The Three Chimneys on the Isle of Skye serves Scottish food, with plenty of culture and tradition evident in their dishes. Scott Davies, the head chef, aims to create dishes which reflect Skye and Scotland’s wealth of ingredients.
  • Prithvi in Cheltenham provides fine Indian dining in an intimate and relaxed environment, using fresh ingredients to create delicate dishes. The restaurant opened in 2012 and has grown rapidly since.
  • When dining at the Northcote you can look forward to not only delicious food but fantastic views of the Ribble Valley as well. The gardens at Northcote provide an integral part of the dining experience with as much produce as possible used in the restaurant's menu.
  • Rising star Ryan Blackburn started the Old Stamp House Restaurant with his brother Craig and the pair are bringing a unique dining experience to Ambleside. The pair source local ingredients to bring the flavours of the area to the table. 
  • The Five Fields in London offers 'native British artisanal produce'. Chefs working at The Five Fields have experience in London, New York and Paris and use their combined knowledge to create seasonally focused dishes.
  • L'Enclume offers the perfect pit stop for those enjoying the beauty of the English Lake District. Nestled on the rriverside in the idyllic village of Cartmel in Cumbria, L'Enclume is Simon Rogan's flagship restaurant and it currently holds two Michelin stars. The chef also works with Claridges Restaurant in London.
