5 Jaguars for under £10,000
  • Probably about as close to the F-Type R Coupé as you can get for our budget, the XKR combines a beautifully svelte body with blistering performance from its supercharged 4.2-litre V8 engine. It’s beautifully appointed inside, too, which makes it a wonderfully stylish way to cover huge distances in utmost comfort.

  • Weve found a rather patriotic example in Racing Green, with a fantastically opulent cream leather interior. It’s done just 68,000 miles and comes with a full service history, too!

  • The S-Type wasn’t universally loved when it was released, but by the middle of its life, a series of revisions had turned it into a real contender in its class. And this supercharged R version was a truly exhilarating performance saloon, featuring the same glorious 400bhp engine that was fitted to the XKR.

  • With a relatively low 56,000 miles on the clock, and finished in a very fetching shade of metallic blue, this example looks like it’d fit the bill nicely.

  • Though its lines were controversial when it was launched, the Jaguar XJS matured into a very respectable grand tourer in its time, and now makes for a truly classy classic car choice. The four-litre straight six provides ample performance, and while the wafty suspension means it isn’t the best driver’s car, it’s certainly effortlessly comfortable.

  • This example looks like one of the best around. It’s a last-of-the-line Celebration model – the one to have – and it’s always been maintained by a Jaguar dealer, and kept in a heated garage as part of a private collection.

  • When thinking of fast Jaguar XJs, the XJR is probably the first car that springs to mind. But this, the Super V8, is one of the most underrated cars Jaguar’s ever produced. It was certainly no slouch, with the 400bhp V8 that went into the S-Type R. But on the outside, subtle styling meant it didn’t shout about its performance – the perfect Jaguar sleeper, in other words.

  • This example just sneaks in below our £10,000 budget; it’s finished in a very reserved shade of metallic grey and comes with a full main dealer service history and below-average mileage.

  • But what if you fancy a drop-top Jag for your money? Well, we’ve got the answer: the slinky XK8. A lovely low-mileage example can be had for our £10,000 budget, though older examples will often go for even less – and despite its age, the drop-top XK8 still looks stylish and seductive

  • We found this particularly appealing example which dates from 2001. It’s covered an extremely low mileage, and comes with some nice options, too. And it’s finished in a really attractive shade of metallic blue that’s sure to make it easy to sell on when the time comes.
