Ram-raiders used a forklift truck to rip a cash machine out of a building society.

Hertfordshire Police said a stolen telehandler vehicle was used to pull the ATM from the Nationwide Building Society in Knight Street, Sawbridgeworth, at around 5.30am on Tuesday.

Footage shows one individual wearing a hooded jacket reversing the vehicle at speed in order to remove the unit from the property.

Two others can then be seen placing straps around the large metal box which is then loaded onto the back of a white pick-up truck.

Footage, taken from a nearby window, shows the individuals abandon the forklift truck as they make a getaway.
