Plane crashes on San Diego motorway

A small plane crashed on the southbound direction of the Interstate 5 highway north of San Diego, California on Tuesday, August 24.

The plane hit several cars, injured two people, and caused a major traffic jam.

Dane and Sarah Tribett of Austin, Texas, were in town to celebrate their wedding anniversary when their car was struck by the plane, although they avoided serious injuries.

"Glass shattered everywhere. All of a sudden we just see the plane in front of us," Sarah Tribett told local media. We were scared out of our minds.

"The people that were driving behind us drove by us after and let us know that it literally landed on top of our car," she added.

"There's jet fuel all over the back of our back seat. All of my clothes are soaked and there's just glass everywhere."
