Percy Jackson and the Olympians is officially getting a second season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Disney+ has renewed Percy Jackson for a second outing just a week after the show's first season finished.

Season two is set to adapt the second book from Rick Riordan's series, 'The Sea of Monsters'. The novel sees titular hero Percy Jackson accompanied by his fellow demigods to rescue his friend Grover from a cyclops and retrieve the magical item known as the Golden Fleece.

Speaking about the renewal, Disney Branded Television president Ayo Davis said in a statement: "Rich in magic, wonder, adventure and heart, Percy Jackson and the Olympians captivated the imaginations of viewers of all ages everywhere."

"We are doing what we can to prepare [for] the eventuality that we get the green light. We don't know. It is not official," he said.

"You know, we're getting reactions like we've had tonight, amazing reactions everywhere... so, if I was the Oracle, I would say the Auguries are good."
