Captain America star Chris Evans made his red carpet debut with new wife Alba Baptista at this year's Oscars ceremony.

Stepping out at the Vanity Fair afterparty last night (March 10), the couple looked smitten together as they cuddled up for the cameras. Evans wore a red suit to the event, while Baptista opted for a long black-and-white gown alongside an intricate diamond necklace.

Evans and Baptista tied the knot in two private ceremonies in September last year, with one being held in Cape Cod, Massachusetts while the other took place in Baptista's native Portugal.

Speaking about his wedding at New York Comic-Con in October, Evans described the two ceremonies as "wonderful and beautiful" despite the stress of planning events in two separate countries.

"It's a lot planning a wedding. For those of you who are married you know it takes a lot out of you," he told fans (via People).

Evans continued: "But now that we're through that, we've just been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favourite season. Now we're just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting."

The couple were first rumoured to be dating in 2022, with a source at the time claiming the pair had at that point been seeing each other for around a year.

Baptista is best known for her work role in Netflix series Warrior Nun as well as appearing in 2022 film Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris alongside Lesley Manville and Jason Isaacs.

Meanwhile, Evans has starred in multiple films since his stint as Captain America in the MCU, including roles in Knives Out and Lightyear.

Most recently, he appeared in crime drama film Pain Hustlers alongside Emily Blunt as well as rom-com Ghosted opposite Ana de Armas, a film which he admitted "could have been better" after it received scathing reviews.

He is next set to appear in romantic comedy Materialists alongside The Last of Us star Pedro Pascal.

The 96th Academy Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, aired from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with live coverage airing across ITV's channels in the UK and ABC in the US.
