Manhole covers propelled into air in China

Footage shows manhole covers exploding into the air as workers accidentally ignite methane during a job in southern China.

The video, captured in the city of Qingyuan in Guangdong Province, shows terrified workers fleeing as three manhole covers are suddenly propelled into the air.

According to a preliminary investigation, the sparks occurred when asphalt was applied to the road, igniting the methane in the manholes.
