A man is facing life in prison after admitting to murdering his mother.

Dale Morgan, 43, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to killing his mother, Judith Rhead, 68. A judge told him he faces life imprisonment when he is sentenced later this year.

Her body was discovered by police at her terraced house in Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire, Wales, after family members expressed concern for her welfare.

Morgan pleaded guilty to her murder at Swansea Crown Court via video link, speaking only to confirm his name and enter a plea.

He was remanded in custody ahead of being sentenced in October.

However, Judge Paul Thomas QC told him: "There is only one sentence I can impose, that is life imprisonment."

The court heard Morgan, from Neyland, Pembrokeshire, admitted killing his mother some time between 10 December 2020, and 20 February 2021.
