Coleen Nolan has taken to Instagram to share her joy over a big family milestone.

The Loose Women star shared the news of her daughter Ciara's engagement with an adorable photo alongside an emotional caption saying she is "delighted" by the news.

The post includes a picture of Ciara - the mother-of-three's youngest child after sons Jake and Shane - cuddled up to her new fiancé Maxx Ines, a musician.

"Well what can I say… I'm so so delighted that @maxxinnes has asked my beautiful girl @ciarafensome to marry him," Coleen wrote. "I love them both sooooo much. Miss them even more! Can't wait to see them. Off to buy a hat."

Ciara shared an insight into the romantic proposal and her glittering ring on her own Instagram page, revealing that Maxx got down on one knee on a boat while the couple holiday in Vietnam.

"It was like a fairytale and I can't wait to spend forever with you @maxinnes I love you," she penned on her Instagram Stories.

However, there was a less glamorous side to the proposal, with her continuing: "The man rowing the boat was gagging and spitting the entire time which really added some flare."

Coleen's Loose Women co-stars Denise Welch, Kelle Bryan, and Charlene White shared their congratulations, as well as radio host Lizzie Cundy and Emmerdale star Hayley Tamaddon.

It comes after Coleen shared an update on her skin cancer diagnosis earlier this year during a chat on ITV breakfast show Lorraine.

"Back in the 70s when I was little, they didn't [put suncream on], you know? Your mum sent you out in the garden and you played and you got burned," she told host Lorraine Kelly.

"I went out recently just before Christmas and they said: 'Oh you've got a pre-melanoma on your face' and I had a carcinoma on my shoulder, which is now gone. I have to sort the melanoma out after touring. But yeah, big scare. And now I will not go out without SPF 50, even in the snow, even in the rain."

Loose Women airs on weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
