Liverpool XI vs Sheffield United: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League

Liverpool bring Ibrahima Konate back into their starting lineup for today’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

Curtis Jones also features on the bench.

The midfielder has not featured for the Reds since suffering an ankle injury in the 4-1 win over Brentford back in February, but is now pushing for selection once again after returning to training at Kirkby this week.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the league for two months as Jurgen Klopp continues his farewell tour.

They displaced Arsenal at the top of the table on Sunday after beating Brighton 2-1 before the Gunners held Manchester City to a goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium.

Arsenal went back to the summit by beating Luton on Wednesday as City also brushed aside Aston Villa. Liverpool are now back down in second spot, but another win against Sheffield United would take them back to first place.

A draw would not be enough though due to Arsenal’s superior goal difference.

Klopp will hope his side can continue their impressive league form despite their continuing injury woes.

“Curtis is in full training and in contention, that’s it pretty much,” Klopp said on Wednesday, later adding: “That doesn’t mean he can play 90 minutes, maybe just a few.”

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota are still out for Liverpool. Andy Robertson is fit after an ankle issue but Wataru Endo is being monitored following a knock.

Stefan Bajcetic will be back in full Liverpool training next week, while Thiago Alcantara, Ben Doak and Joel Matip are still out.
