Insulate Britain ringleader says ‘he doesn’t care about insulation’

The leader of Insulate Britain has called himself a "hypocrite" and admitted he "doesn’t care" about insulating homes.

Liam Norton is behind the recent road-block protests. One of the main objectives is calling on the Government to insulate all social housing by 2025.

Mr Norton has now said he is "terrible" for not practicing what he preaches.

Speaking on talkRADIO, presenter Cristo Foufas asked Norton about why he doesn’t insulate his home.

He replied: “Because I’m a hypocrite."

Foufas probed him further, asking: "Do you understand why people will think, well, this guy doesn’t care about insulation, he only cares about causing disruption and trying to make a name for himself?"

"Yeah, they’re right," Norton said.

"I don’t particularly care about insulation."

His admission will surely anger motorists who have been delayed on the roads.

Recently, London’s transport network was granted a court injunction against protesters aimed at preventing them from obstructing traffic.

A spokesperson for TfL said: “The safety of people travelling on the capital’s roads is our number one priority.

“We have been granted an injunction this afternoon by the High Court which bans protesters from engaging in activities that obstruct traffic at 14 locations.

“This will help to protect London’s road network and everybody using it.

“We will continue to work closely with the police and other highway authorities in London to manage the impact on the road network, and would encourage people to check their journeys before they travel.”
