The pair's respective characters, Chloe Harris and Charity Dingle, have been stuck in a bitter love triangle with Mackenzie Boyd - with Chloe planning revenge on the pair after Mack finally choose to reunite estranged wife Charity following a dramatic hilltop crash.
Speaking ahead of a huge week for Chloe in the village, Elland praised her relationship with Atkins, saying: "Emma is incredible to work with, we get on far better than Chloe and Charity do (thank goodness).
"She's such an amazing actress, I've learnt so much from working with her."
The actress went on to add that she would love to keep working with Atkins and is open to the idea of Chloe and Charity both turning against Mack.
"I'd jump at any excuse to keep working together so I'd be all for a storyline of them both teaming up to bin Mackenzie off," she said. "But who knows if they'll be able to get to that point after everything that has happened."
Elland went on to thank fans for their support with the storyline, adding that the response to the crash scenes in Super Soap Week had been "amazing".
"It’s so wonderful to hear how much people enjoyed it," she added. "We couldn’t have asked for a better reception."
"It definitely doesn't hurt to have another person in her corner when you're up against Charity Dingle," she said.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
