Car falls into sinkhole in the middle of the road

A car has fallen into a sinkhole that opened up in the middle of a road in southern China.

The video, filmed in the city of Ji’an in Jiangxi Province, shows the driver of the vehicle failing to notice the huge hole, and being swallowed up as a result.

The motorist was rescued by people at the scene and sent to hospital for treatment.

According to reports, days of heavy rain are thought to have caused the road to collapse.
