US police stop abduction of young girl by non-custodial mum

A five-year-old abducted girl from Westminster, Colorado, was found safe by Ohio state officers.

The girl was found with her non-custodial mother, who was taken into custody, according to local reports.

The mother, identified as Christine Mascarenas, 22, was booked into the Corrections Centre of Northwest Ohio.

The girl was released to Williams County Child Services.

The father has full custody, according to a spokesman for the Westminster Police Department.
