A truck's cabin was sliced open by a steel plate carried on the vehicle after it performed an emergency stop in eastern China.

CCTV video, shot in the city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang Province, shows a huge steel plate on the back of the truck suddenly sliding forward and shaving off the vehicle's cabin.

Since the driver wore a seatbelt, he was not thrown out of the cabin but remained trapped inside.

Police eventually freed the driver and brought him to safety.

Luckily, he only suffered minor injuries in the bizarre accident.
