Toddler hoisted by her leash in lift ordeal

A lift dragged a two-year-old girl up to the ceiling after a leash attached to her hand became trapped in its doors.

The CCTV footage, filmed in the city of Huangshi in China's Hubei Province, shows the youngster walking into the lift alone. After the doors close and the lifts moves, the girl is hoisted into the air.

The lift stops after the emergency stop device is activated and the girl slides down on to the floor.

According to reports, the girl was tied by a child safety leash and the other side of the leash was held by her mum. However, she walked into the lift by herself when her mum was still outside.

The toddler emerged uninjured from her ordeal.
