Supermodel Heidi Klum says she has been unable to get coronavirus test

Supermodel Heidi Klum has revealed she has been unable to get a coronavirus test, despite being ill and presenting some of the symptoms.

Klum has been absent from her judge's chair on America's Got Talent and said in an Instagram video she experienced "a chill" and started "feeling feverish".

The 46-year-old German also said she had a cough and runny nose.

"I'm just not feeling good," Klum said in a video posted from her bed.

"So, that's why I've stayed home to not infect any other people."

Klum, a mother-of-four, said she hopes it is just a cold, but wants to rule out anything more serious.

"I would love to do the corona test, but there just isn't one here," she said. "I tried with two different doctors, and I just can't get one."

Klum encouraged her followers to "stay home if you don't feel good".

Klum is an America's Got Talent judge alongside Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara.

Modern Family star Eric Stonestreet has been filling her chair while she is away.

Klum's illness comes as President Donald Trump declared the Covid-19 pandemic a national emergency in the US.

He delivered a press conference from the White House's Rose Garden.

He said the emergency would open up 50 billion US dollars (£40.7 billion) for state and local governments to respond to the outbreak.
