Child dies after mother leaves car in neutral

A thre-year-old girl died on Saturday in Texas when she was run over by a car in the driveway of her family home.

The incident occurred in Cypress, a suburb about 25 miles northwest of Houston, Texas.

An investigation found that the mother of the girl was unloading the SUV and accidentally left the vehicle in neutral.

After the mother left the motor, it rolled back down the driveway and struck her child who was behind the vehicle.

The child was rushed to hospital but pronounced dead at Memorial Hermann Hospital by Cyfair shortly after her arrival.
