Grandma dangles seven-year-old child from balcony to rescue cat

A pensioner tied a rope around her seven-year-old grandson and dangled him from an apartment on the fifth floor of a flat in China to rescue a cat.

The video that has since gone viral after an onlooker recorded the bizarre incident.

The puss was trapped on a ledge above a window two floors down and the child was lowered until he could snatch it.

Both cat and boy were unhurt following the drama.

The incident reportedly took place in Sichuan Province.

Many people online have condemned the grandmother for putting the boy's life in danger.
