Group of pedestrians fall into sinkhole in back alley

Four pedestrians fell into a sinkhole that opened up on an urban back road in southern China.

The CCTV video, shot in the city of Nanning on December 21, shows a man suddenly dropping into a sinkhole that opens up beneath him. The footage goes on to show him clambering out of the hole by himself.

Then, when passersby gathered to check the sinkhole, the ground gave way again, causing four people to fall in - including the first pedestrian who falls in for a second time!

Fortunately, the four were able to get back to safety by themselves and did not hurt themselves.

Authorities are now investigating the incident, reports said.
