The three unnecessary tasks workers waste more than half of their working day doing

A study has revealed the three unnecessary tasks workers waste more than half of their working day doing.

The report by Inc claims the average employee in the US spends 51 per cent of their day on time-wasting tasks.

The first is the daily commute, which takes an average 27 minutes each way in the States - or 13 per cent of a person's workday.

The second is useless meetings - the average worker is believed to spend 22 years of their career in meetings - of which 16 per cent are pointless.

And the third is irrelevant emails, which take up an average of 1.8 hours a day to read and respond to - or 10 years over a 45 year career.
