Cop shamed at awards ceremony

A Florida politician got his own back on a police officer who had wrongly arrested him four years ago.

Deputy Joshua Gallardo was about to receive an award for excellence in policing during a ceremony in Tamarac when City Commissioner Mike Gelin took the microphone.

"Joshua Gallardo can you come down for a second?" Gelin said, beckoning Gillardo to the commission chamber floor, the Daily Mail reported.

"It's good to see you again. You probably don't remember me. You're the police officer who falsely arrested me four years ago.

"You lied on the police report. I believe you are a rogue police officer. You're a bad police officer and you don't deserve to be here."

Gallardo was ambushed by Gelin as he received the city's Deputy of the Month award for his arrest of a gang member wanted for murder.
