Police pull sleeping driver from car seconds before it's hit by train

Georgia cops saved a driver's life after he appeared to be asleep at the wheel while parked on a railway track.

Police said officers Veal and Smith were on patrol in the area when they spotted the vehicle on the tracks with the driver inside.

Moments after they approached the car, the railroad signals activated and the crossing arms lowered, indicating a train was coming. The officers attempted to alert the driver, but all of the doors were locked and loud music was playing inside the vehicle.

The officers were forced to smash a window to remove the driver from the car and get him to safety, just seconds before the train hit the vehicle.

"These officers put their own lives at risk to save this citizen, and to summarise this in a nutshell... WOW," the department wrote alongside the dramatic footage.
