Man, 29, stabbed to death in north London

A 29-year-old man has been stabbed to death in north London.

Scotland Yard said officers found the man with serious injuries on Houndsfield Road in Edmonton, Enfield, shortly after 8.10pm on Saturday.

The London Ambulance Service was also called to the incident, but the man died at the scene shortly after 9pm.

The Metropolitan Police has launched a murder investigation into the death.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody.

Detectives have now asked to hear from anyone who attended an event at the nearby Old Edmontonians FC clubhouse on Saturday evening.

Scotland Yard said: “The incident is not thought to be connected to the event or the football club, however it is possible that somebody present may have seen something significant.”

The Met said enquiries are ongoing to establish the victim’s identity and inform his next of kin.
