Kent woman faces trial over pub incident that left Miss England finalist injured

A 27-year-old woman has denied causing grievous bodily harm to a Miss England finalist following a bar fight.

Professional golfer Olivia Cooke was injured in the incident at the pub in West Malling, Kent, last year.

China Gold, of London Road in Ditton, is charged with s20 unlawful wounding in relation to the incident.

She appeared at Maidstone Crown Court charged with unlawful wounding.

Gold denied the charge and was released on bail.

The Kent woman will now face a jury trial, scheduled for the week beginning January 27, 2020.

At an earlier hearing Olivia Cooke entered a not guilty plea to common assault, the CPS confirmed.

This is due to go to trial on September 23 at Maidstone Magistrates’ Court.

A Julie Cooke pleaded guilty to a charge of causing actual bodily harm at a hearing in this case on May 10.
