Joe Biden gets a laugh with 'Donald Hump'
Gaffe-prone former US vice-president Joe Biden slipped up on Saturday on the campaign trail by mispronouncing President Trump as "Donald Hump", as you can see in the above video.
Biden spoke at the New Hampshire Democratic Convention, and ended his speech up with an attack on Trump.
"I cannot and will not let this man be re-elected president of the United States of America," Biden said, adding "Limit it to 4 years. I believe history will look back on this presidency as an aberrant moment in time."
"But if Donald Hump," Biden said, to laughter from the crowd.
"If Donald Trump is re-elected... Freudian slip," Biden said, as the audience applauded.
"If Donald Trump is re-elected, he will forever and fundamentally alter the character of this nation," Biden continued. "Donald Trump pose an existential threat To this, it's not hypothetical hysterical, this nation."
According to the FT, Biden has not had a great summer.
Recent polling in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire suggests that after months of being the front-runner in a packed Democratic presidential field, Biden's support may be waning.
"Joe Biden is still the frontrunner, but he is looking over his shoulder now at Elizabeth Warren," said Mary Anne Marsh, a Boston-based Democratic strategist.
"Campaigns are won in June, July and August, and Elizabeth Warren has won June, July and August," she added.
