Baby bear tries to rescue sibling from bin

A crying baby bear becomes stuck in a refuse bin - and its sibling tries to rescue it in a heartbreaking video.

The footage was shot by police in California, who used a ladder to help the cub break free.

Placer County Sheriff's Office received a call about the incident outside a motel in Kings Beach, California, and several deputies went to the young animal's aid.

They arrived to find the wailing cub's mother and sibling trying to open the dumpster themselves.

Video footage of the rescue shows the deputies carefully opening the lid of the dumpster and placing a ladder inside. Soon after, the cub is seen climbing out, jumping to the ground and running to join its family.
