Firefighters battle blaze at shop in central London

Firefighters are tackling a fire that broke out at a shop in Farringdon, London earlier this morning.

Video shows fire engines in attendance at the scene of the fire near Clerkenwell Road.

Thick, black smoke can be seen coming from the burning building.

Police have cordoned off the road while fire crews work to extinguish the fire, which started at around 6.30am today.

Camden Police tweeted: "Clerkenwell Road is closed between A201 Farringdon Road and Rosebery Avenue / A5200 Grays Inn Road while units deal with an active building fire.

"Please avoid the area and use alternative routes to allow access to emergency services."

No injuries have been reported.
