Firefighters rescue man clinging onto broken safety rope from 16th floor of building in China

Firefighters managed to rescue a man clinging from a broken safety rope from the 16th floor of a building in China.

Dramatic video, filmed in Liupanshui city in Guizhou province, shows a worker hanging onto the rope as the firefighters analyse the situation.

A fireman then lowers himself down from the roof and ties a safety rope to the stranded man's waist.

He then helps to push the worker up while other firefighters on the top of the building lift him slowly to safety.

According to reports, the worker was repairing the outer wall when his safety rope suddenly snapped, and his instinctive reaction to grab what was left ultimately saved his life.
