Melania Trump sets off for UK in £3,000 Gucci dress printed with London landmarks
Melania Trump, 49, set the tone for her husband's state visit in a Gucci dress printed with London landmarks.
The First Lady left people in no doubt of her love for the UK capital as she boarded the Air Force One plane at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.
She wore a collared shirt dress by Gucci, known as the city print shirt dress, which retails at £2,650 on luxury fashion retail website Farfetch.
The design features the Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament and iconic double-decker London buses – designed to be in "celebration" on London.
"Crafted from purely soft cream silk, this shirt dress is adorned with an eclectic print in celebration of the metropolis with contrasting orange and green details," the website listing reads.
The First Lady styled the shirt dress with a green snakeskin belt which cinced in her waist and highlighted her slim physique.
She paired this vibrant look with a pair of pointed nude stiletto pumps.
Her trademark chestnut locks were suitably styled in soft waves for the occasion, while she had a deep tan and a natural-look French manicure.
The Trump's three-day visit to the UK begins today. The couple are expected to land at 9am at Stansted Airport to begin their visit.
The state visit begins with a busy day of meet-and-greets. Upon landing, the Trumps will head straight to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.
They will receive a ceremonial welcome at the Buckingham Palace garden, and later on they will visit Westminster Abbey to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.
Afterwards, they will return to Buckingham Palace for a State Banquet.
