Boris Johnson ‘plays around’ in constituency day after leadership announcement

Boris Johnson has been snapped “playing around” on the day after he announced his intention to run for the Conservative leadership.

The former mayor of London, visited Cowley Saint Laurence primary school in his constituency on Friday, to open up their new playground gym.

He was photographed at the Uxbridge school, meeting pupils, and playing on the equipment, including a leg press and an air skier.

Mr Johnson, pictured in a sharp suit with blue tie, also cut the ribbon on the new £10,000 kit funded by the National Lottery.

The images come 24 hours after the MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip confirmed his intention to run for Number 10 when Theresa May leaves.

He told a Manchester conference: “I’m going to go for it.

“Of course I’m going to go for it.

“I don’t think that is any particular secret to anybody.

“But you know, there is no vacancy at present.”
