Man stabbed in chest with hunting knife on train

A man was stabbed in the chest with a hunting knife after getting in a fight on board a train.

The victim and two friends were waiting at Glasgow Central at around 8pm on Saturday when they got in an argument with a man.

Both parties boarded a train heading for Partick then had a “physical altercation”.

A hunting knife was then pulled from the suspect’s bag and he began brandishing it repeatedly at the victim.

The 20-year-old was stabbed in the chest and later attended hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect is believed to be in his late teens, with mousey long hair and a fringe.

He was wearing a khaki jacket and trousers and carrying a distinctive camouflage rucksack.
