CCTV footage released after attack on teenager

CCTV footage showing a 19-year-old man being punched in the face and falling into the road has been released by police.

The victim was left with a plate in his jaw following surgery after the incident, which occurred as he was walking in Guildford town centre on Tuesday September 11 at around 3am.

A group of three men approached the victim in Woodbridge Road before one swung and struck him in the face, leaving him on the road, before they took off into the night.

A few pedestrians nearby ran over to offer their aid.

Surrey Police investigating officer Kieran Coffey said: "We have released the video footage as it highlights how just one punch can cause serious injury and have devastating consequences.

"The victim had to have a plate inserted in his jaw following the assault and we are really keen to bring his attackers to justice.

"He did not know any of these men and was walking home after a night out when the incident took place.

"I am hoping that releasing the video footage will prompt someone into coming forward."
