Marks and Spencer has provoked online anger after it released a sandwich in LGBTQ+ rainbow-coloured packaging. The LGBT sarnie contains bacon, lettuce and tomato with the addition of guacamole, but not everyone is happy.

The special limited-edition sandwich has been launched to celebrate Pride 2019, but some members of the LGBTQ+ community are fuming after seeing the item in stores.

Shopper Aaron Wright tweeted a picture of the sandwich, which comes in rainbow-coloured packaging, with a caption saying "f*** off".

Money from the sale of the LGBT sandwich will be donated to AKT, which helps the homeless LGBTQ+ community and BeLong a youth services charity in Ireland.

Not everyone who criticised M&S efforts was aware that it was for charity, but many said that using the LGBTQ+ flag and community as a marketing ploy had left them uncomfortable.
