Polar bear mother scrambles down ice to find lost cub

A polar bear's search for its cub over ice caps has been captured in a series of dramatic pictures.

The creature was seen descending from an icy ridge after hearing the cub's cries.

The drama played out in front of a wildlife photographer in Canada.
