In Pictures: Plethora of placards at youth climate protests

Young demonstrators took to the streets of London in the latest colourful protest over climate change.

Up to 800 students gathered at Parliament Square on Friday morning for the rally, organised by the Youth Strike 4 Climate movement. They carried placards and chanted slogans to highlight the crisis.

It was just one of several protests expected to take place in towns and cities across the UK.
