Man in hospital after fire in flat
One man has been taken to hospital following a blaze at a flat in Kirkintilloch.
Three fire engines went to the scene in Eastside when the alarm was raised at 4.48am on Friday.
Fire crews extinguished the flames and remained at the scene to make the area safe.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said one man was taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering from smoke inhalation.
The road in the East Dunbartonshire town was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
