Two men sought over attempted murder in Fife

Detectives are treating a blade attack on a man in Fife as attempted murder.

The 36-year-old was confronted by two men in the doorway of a property in Fod Street, Dunfermline, on Monday evening.

Following an exchange he was assaulted with a bladed or pointed weapon, police said.

He was treated for a serious neck injury after the attack at around 7.30pm and remains in a serious but stable condition at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Detective Sergeant Alexander Brydon said: “This was a vicious attack which has left the victim seriously harmed.

“Thankfully he was quickly attended to, however the consequences of this attack could have been much more serious.

“We are eager to trace the two men involved as soon as possible.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the Fod Street area on the evening of Monday April 1 and saw anything suspicious to come forward at their earliest convenience.”
