In Pictures: Landmarks switch off lights for Earth Hour

Landmarks across the UK and beyond switched off their lights on Saturday night to mark Earth Hour.

The lights went out at famous buildings between 8.30pm and 9.30pm as part of the international event organised by conservation charity WWF to urge action to save the planet.

More than 7,000 cities in over 170 countries were estimated to take part in this year’s Earth Hour.
