Charles and Camilla to enjoy taste of Cuba’s food culture as tour nears end
The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will learn about Cuba's food culture as their tour of the Communist island draws to a close.
Charles and Camilla will visit a paladar – a privately-run restaurant – and be presented with a range of Cuban dishes and produce.
Later the prince will visit the Centre of Molecular Immunology and meet cancer patients and carers, and also chat to researchers who are conducting joint studies with UK institutions, including University College London, the Cancer Research Institute in Glasgow and the University of Manchester.
Meanwhile, Camilla will visit the National Equestrian Centre and see horses in training for a selection of sports and view displays by riders from the Cuban School of Classic Spanish Dressage.
Charles will learn about the devastating tornado which ripped through parts of Havana, destroying homes and killing around four people in January, and discover how the communities responded to the natural disaster.
The prince and his wife will say goodbye to Cuba later and travel to the final stop in their tour of the Caribbean – the Cayman Islands.
The couple will receive a ceremonial welcome when they arrive at the overseas territory, with Charles meeting the premier, Alden McLaughlin, and the Governor, Martyn Roper, at Government House.
