Spanish man named as latest London knife victim

A 26-year-old Spaniard is the latest victim to die in London after being stabbed.

David Martinez collapsed and died in the street after being knifed in Leyton, east London, police said.

Mr Martinez is the 15th person killed by a knife in the capital in 2019.

The Metropolitan Police said he was attacked at an address on North Birkbeck Road before leaving and collapsing in the street. He was declared dead at the scene at around 5.10pm on Wednesday.

Police are hunting for his killer who they believe was known to Mr Martinez.

His family have been told.

Scotland Yard said the killing is not believed to be gang-related.
