Shocking scene as fox chased through graveyard

A pregnant vixen was filmed being chased through a graveyard in what appeared to be an illegal fox hunt.

Members of the public demanded that the huntsmen called off the hounds, as the fox made a dash into the Somerset countryside.

Hunting foxes with hounds has been illegal since 2004, although many animals are killed "by accident" during so-called trail hunts.

The shocking scene was filmed by animal welfare campaigners Hounds Off and Somerset Wildlife Crime.

The campaigners told SomersetLive the footage was filmed at St Peter and St Paul's Church in Charlton Horethorne near Wincanton.
