Paraglider taken to hospital after hill fort crash

A paraglider has been airlifted to hospital after crashing into a hillside.

Police were called to the Tap o’ Noth hill fort near Rhynie in Aberdeenshire shortly before 10.30am on Saturday morning.

Officers from Huntly and Alford, helped by members of the public, found the 26-year-old man with a suspected broken leg.

He was then airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by a coastguard helicopter, Police Scotland said.

Anyone who witnessed the accident or can assist with the investigation is being asked to contact officers on the 101 number, quoting incident number 1394 of March 2.
