Man seriously injured after ‘sickening’ attack by two men

A man suffered serious injuries after he was attacked by two men who drove up to him in a car.

The 28-year-old was targeted in Low Waters Road, Hamilton, at around 4pm on Monday.

A vehicle believed to be a black Audi A3 drove up to the victim and two men got out and assaulted him.

They then drove off in the car towards the Eddlewood area.

The injured man was taken by ambulance to University Hospital, Wishaw, where he was treated for head injuries.

Police are appealing for information about the incident in the South Lanarkshire town.

Detective Constable Gary Milligan said: “This was a sickening attack on this man who was left with serious head injuries.

“The attack took place in broad daylight in a very busy area. It is crucial that we trace the men who are responsible and find out exactly what happened. I would ask anyone with any information to contact police via 101.”

The first suspect is described as being well built, white and around 6ft. He was wearing a black coloured puffer jacket.

The second suspect is described as being around 5ft 8ins, of heavy build and with a tanned complexion. He was wearing black coloured clothing.
