Fife robbery investigators seek help from across the Irish Sea

Police Scotland are asking members of the public in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland if they can help with a robbery in a Fife village.

The raid took place in Lundin Road, Crossford, on Friday May 4, when a 76-year-old woman was held in a house and a number of items were stolen.

CCTV images previously released show a man who police officers hope will be able to help with their inquiry.

It is believed he may have had links to the Greenock in Inverclyde, Clarkmannanshire and Stirling, and could also have travelled to Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

Police are appealing for anyone who recognises the man to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Kelly McEwan from Dunfermline CID said: “The man in the CCTV images may have information that can help with the ongoing investigation and one line of inquiry for us is that he may now be somewhere in either Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland.

“I’d ask that communities from both countries look at our footage and get in touch as a matter of urgency if they believe they recognise the man pictured.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relating to this robbery should also contact police immediately.

“Those with information can contact Dunfermline CID via 101 and quote incident number 0099 of 5th May.

“Alternatively, an anonymous report can be made via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
