Three teens arrested in stab murder probe

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a teenager was stabbed.

Police were called to a report of an assault in Caledonian Road, near the junction with Tilloch Street, Islington, at 6.49pm on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old boy, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two boys aged 16 and 17, who were arrested near the area, have been taken into custody at a north London police station.

A man, aged 18, was arrested at an address in Islington.

Emergency vehicles, including a police van and ambulances, were at the scene of the incident, which was cordoned off to the public.

A Section 60 stop and search order, which allows police to search anyone in a given area, was put in place until 3am on Wednesday, covering much of Islington, Clerkenwell, Finsbury Park and Bloomsbury.
