Brexit makes the bulk of the headlines on Wednesday after MPs gave their backing to proposals to replace the controversial backstop.

The Times writes that Theresa May “united” her Conservative party, adding that she “won the reprieve” a fortnight after suffering defeat on her Brexit deal in the Commons.

The Daily Telegraph says Mrs May will “take the battle back to Brussels”, reporting that there will be a “showdown”.

The Guardian carries the EU response to the Commons vote, saying that “nothing has changed”.

The FinancialTimes says Mrs May and the bloc are on a “collision course”.

The Metro says Mrs May will head to Brussels to renegotiate the backstop in Ireland, adding Donald Tusk has said it cannot be revisited.

The DailyMail calls the vote a “triumph” for Mrs May, saying she united her party and “crushed” Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The DailyExpress calls it a “remarkable turnaround” for the “indomitable” Prime Minister.
