Wild boar heroically rescued from frozen lake

These Good Samaritans in Sweden lent a helping hand to some wild boars in need.

The group of ice skaters were on a guided tour of Lake Baven near the capital city, Stockholm, when they came across the animals that had somehow ended up in the middle of the lake's icy surface and were struggling to get off.

One of the boars is seen trying to walk off the ice but its legs keep slipping beneath it, when it falls for the umpteenth time it gives the person filming a rather imploring look, and so the skaters give it a helping hand (or should that be pole?!).

As it turned out, wild boars glide across frozen ice comparatively easily, and a scene reminiscent of a bizarre medieval curling competition ensued, with the skaters use their trekking poles to push the stricken animals back to dry land.
